Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini, commonly known as Lionel Messi or Leo Messi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward and captains both Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentina national team. father – [ Jorge Messi ] mother- [ Celia Maria Cuccittini ]  (born June 24, 1987, Rosario, Argentina), Argentine-born football (soccer) player who was named Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) world player of the year five times (2009–12 and 2015) .

Alberto YaqueLautaro’s agent, Alberto Yaque, conceded that linking up with Messi on a regular basis is something any player would want.

How much is Messi worth in the transfer market ?

Transfer Market Messi and Ronaldo both outside the top fiveHis price tag stands at 218.5 million euros, which is 18.2m euros more than Tottenham’s Harry Kane in second place.

Ronaldo, more than Messi, is the ideal model of the next generation of players. Messi has won more titles since he plays for a better team, not because he is a better player than Ronaldo. Throughout his entire career, Messi played for arguably the best side to ever play the game.

Advanced statistics proves Messi is better :

Both Ronaldo and Messi have impressive stats, but a closer look at them proves Messi make decisions better and, more importantly, brings greater value to his team. Using a framework that was originally developed for baseball, The Economist rated Messi and Ronaldo goals based on their context and importance. These stats, called Expected Points Added (EPA), rate goals by their added win probability. Meaning, a winning goal in the last minute of the game is rated higher than the fourth goal scored in a 4-0 win. Messi’s EPA stands at 59.5 while Ronaldo’s is 50.4.

Moreover, Messi makes better decisions. Using a complex algorithm, a company called GoodCall values a player’s decision-making and Efficiency Per Match (EPM). This entails valuing each pass, shot, chance created or a dribble made by players, and then rating the player’s decision-making and efficiency. Messi’s EPM is 238, and he makes good decisions 0.63% of the time. Ronaldo’s EPM is 118 and his decision making rate stands only on 0.43%

Messi’s magic :

Messi and Ronaldo differ mostly in their style. Ronaldo is a machine. He is an explosive player, with abnormal physical abilities and a huge amount of talent. Tall and strong and certainly one of the greatest players, Ronaldo doesn’t possess Messi’s magic.

The Argentine is a greater natural talent. He is a virtuoso, a magician. His dribbling is considered to be the best the game has ever seen, and he passes and shoots the ball with theprecision of a brain surgeon. He makes eye-popping moves that leave people speechless and overwhelmed. Seeing him weave his way through a team’s defense and then put the ball past the keeper is just something special.

Early Life :

Lionel Andrés Messi was born on 24 June 1987 in Rosario, the third of the four children of Jorge Messi, a steel factory manager, and his wife Celia Cuccittini, who worked in a magnet manufacturing workshop. On his father’s side, he is of Italian and Spanish descent, the great-grandson of immigrants from the northcentral Adriatic Marche region of Italy and Catalonia, and on his mother’s side, he has primarily Italian ancestry. Growing up in a tight-knit, football-loving family, “Leo” developed a passion for the sport from an early age, playing constantly with his older brothers, Rodrigo and Matías, and his cousins, Maximiliano and Emanuel Biancucchi, both of whom became professional footballers. At the age of four he joined local club Grandoli, where he was coached by his father, though his earliest influence as a player came from his maternal grandmother, Celia, who accompanied him to training and matches. He was greatly affected by her death, shortly before his eleventh birthday; since then, as a devout Catholic, he has celebrated his goals by looking up and pointing to the sky in tribute of his grandmother.

What happened to Messi when he was little :

Recognizably smaller than most of the kids in his age group, Messi was eventually diagnosed by doctors as suffering from a hormone deficiency that restricted his growth.

Is Messi going to retire :

Messi admitted that “retirement is approaching” in his 2019 Ballon d’Or acceptance speech, but there has been little indication from him as to what he might do when he hangs his boots up for good. However, it seems likely that he will remain involved in football in one form or another.

At what age will Messi retire :

Yesterday, SPORT ran a poll to ask its readers as such and the results were published this morning in Spain. Among those that voted, 36% believed that Messi would call it a day at age 36 while 19% thought at 37, 15% at 40, 14% at 35, 10% at 38, 2% at 34 or 39 and just 1% next year at 33.

Can Messi win World Cup 2022 :

Messi has played in three Copa America finals with La Albiceleste, as well as the 2014 World Cup final against Germany, but he has never been on the winning side. … It is not inconceivable Messi could have another chance to become a world champion in 2022 in Qatar.

How many titles has Messi won Argentina :

30 trophiesSince his first match for Barcelona in 2004, Lionel Messi has won a whopping 30 trophies with Barcelona. But that’s just for Barcelona. He’s also won an Olympic gold medal with Argentina at Beijing 2008 and he also won the under-20 World Cup.

Lionel Messi Wife :

Antonela Roccuzzo Argentinian football star Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzo rings her special day today. While fans know almost everything about Messi, not much is known about his wife Antonela.
