Masala Dosa Ingredients: 😊

Dosa Batter:

  • 1/2 cup Idli Rice
  • 1/2 cup Parboiled Rice
  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tablespoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon Chana Dal
  • 1/4 cup Poha
  • Water
  • 1/2 tablespoon Rock Salt

Red Chutney:

  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 tablespoon Chana Dal
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 6 Garlic Clove
  • 15 Red Chili
  • 1/2 tablespoon Rock Salt
  • Water

Potato Masala:

  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 tablespoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon Urad Dal
  • 1/4 tablespoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon Asafoetida Powder
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 Onion Finely Chopped
  • 2 Green Chili Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 3 Boiled Potato
  • Coriander Leaves chopped

Method of Masala Dosa:😊

  • In a bowl, wash and soak idli rice and parboiled rice for about 4-5 hours
  • In another bowl, wash and soak urad dal, fenugreek seeds, Chana dal for about 4-5 hours
  • In another bowl, wash and soak poha for about 4-5 hours
  • Grind the rice without any water and later add little water & grind
  • Add dals and grind it again
  • Finally add poha and grind it into a smooth batter
  • Add rock salt and mix well
  • Let the batter ferment for about 8-10 hours
  • To make red chutney, heat a pan with some oil roast cumin seeds, Chana dal
  • Add onions, garlic, red chillies and sauté them
  • Cool the mixture and add salt and grind it to a fine paste
  • Boil the potatoes and peel the skin
  • For potato masala, heat a pan with some oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds
  • After the mustard seeds splutter, add asafoetida, onions, green chilies, curry leaves and sauté
  • After sautéing the onions, add turmeric powder, salt and smashed boiled potatoes
  • Mix everything well
  • Add coriander leaves and keep the mixture aside
  • Heat a tawa/ dosa pan , add oil and sprinkle some water on it pour the dosa batter on it and spread gently.
  • Cook the side and spread on top side red chutney, potato masala
  • Fold the dosa and serve it hot.
