Delicious Dum Chicken Masala! Serves 2August 13, 2020
Dum Chicken Masala
Ingredients to keep ready:
- 650gms Chicken with bones
- 150gms Yogurt
- 2tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2tsp Green chili
- 2tbsp Whole Coriander seeds
- 2tbsp Milk
- 1/4tsp Saffron
- 50gms dry Coconut pieces
- 2tbsp Almonds
- 2tbsp Cashews
- 2 glass Water
- 3 Onions
- Salt to taste
- 1tsp Red chili
- 1tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2tsp Turmeric
- 1tsp Garam masala
- 1/2tsp Black pepper
- 1/4tsp Cardamom powder
- 2tsp Coriander powder
- 1tbsp Lemon juice
- Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing
Preparation Method for Dum Chicken Masala:
In a bowl, add milk, add saffron and mix it well.
Soak it for about 10 minutes.
Take a pan, add dry coconut pieces, almonds, cashews and dry roast until it turns golden brown in colour.
Remove it from flame and transfer this into a blender, add 1 glass water and blend it into a smooth paste. (water as required to make the paste).
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan, add chopped onions and fry till translucent or until it turns dark brown in colour.
Remove it from flame and transfer this into a mixing bowl, add chicken, add the blended paste, add yogurt, add the prepared saffron milk, add ginger garlic paste, add chopped green chili, add whole coriander seeds, add 1 teaspoon salt, add red chili powder, add cumin powder, add turmeric, add garam masala, add black pepper, add cardamom powder, add coriander powder, add lemon juice and mix all the ingredients well.
Marinate the chicken with the added ingredients for 2 hours.
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pot , add the marinated chicken and mix it well.
Cover the pot with aluminum foil and cover the above with a lid.
Cook it for about 15 minutes on medium flame.
Open the lid and give it a nice stir gently.
Again cover it with lid and cook for about 15 minutes more on a medium flame.
Open the lid and give it a nice stir again gently.
Cook for another 5 minutes on medium flame.
Remove it from flame.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve it hot.
