Ingredients to Keep Ready:

  • 250 gms Wheat flour – 200 grams
  • 200gms All purpose flour (Maida)
  • 6tbsp Oil
  • 1 1/2tsp Salt
  • 1tbsp Garlic paste
  • Water as required
  • 1tbsp Garlic
  • 1/2tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2tsp Cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • 1bunch Fenugreek (methi leaves) (approx. 150gms) Finely chopped
  • Butter / ghee

Preparation Method:

In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, add all purpose flour (Maida), 2tbsp oil, 1 tsp salt, garlic paste and mix it well.

Add water as required and knead it into a smooth soft dough.

Rest the dough for 30 minutes.

Heat 4tbsp oil in a pan, add garlic and stir well.

Add red chili powder, add cumin powder and stir again.

Then, add chopped fenugreek (methi leaves) and mix it well.

Cook for 7 minutes on medium flame.

Add 1/2 tsp salt and mix it well.

Remove it from flame and keep it aside.

Take a ball from dough and with the help of a rolling pin flatten it.

Add the prepared fenugreek mixture on it.

Flip the flatten dough from both sides and roll it into a cylindrical shape.

Cut it into three pieces.

Place the dough pieces on top of one another and flatten it with the help of your fingers / palm.

Then, flatten it properly with the help of a rolling pin and make a nice big roll.

Place it on a hot tawa and cook on moderate flame for 2 – 3 minutes.

Flip it gently.

Brush it with butter / ghee.

Flip it again and brush the other side too.

Cook until it turns golden brown in colour.

Remove it from flame.

Serve it hot with favourite chutney / tomato ketchup / curd.
