Healthy Green Gram Idli – Serves 2August 30, 2020
Green Gram Idli
Ingredients to keep ready:
- 1 cup Green Gram
- 1/2 cup Urad Dal (white without black skin)
Rinse (wash) and soak the green gram overnight.
Rinse (wash) and soak the urad dal for also for overnight.
Drain the water and grind the green gram finely.
Drain the water and grind the urad dal finely.
Now add salt and mix the two batter evenly and let the batter ferment for about 5 hours.
Apply oil on the idli moulds and pour in the fermented idli batter half way.
Steam the idlis until they are cooked completely. (15 minutes)
You can check the idlis by poking a toothpick in it, if the toothpick comes clean, then they are cooked completely.
Let the idlis cool for about 3 minutes and unmould them.
The Green gram idlis are ready to be served hot with any chutney as per your taste.
