Sunidhi Chauhan was born on 14-08-1993 in New Delhi, India. She is an Indian Playback Singer, Singer, Musician, Television Presenter, Voice Artist, Philanthropist & Television Personality. She is well-known for her work in Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Punjabi cinema. She introduced herself to the music world after recording “Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi” from Mast. It won her Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent and was nominated for the Best Female Playback Singer.

Early life of Sunidhi Chauhan

Sunidhi Chauhan was born in Delhi. She completed her schooling from Greenway Public School, Dilshad Garden. She started her singing career at a very early age of four. She participated in many competitions and made her presence felt. Her family soon shifted to Mumbai when Tabassum, a TV host spotted her talent and expressed to her parents that she could further her career if they went to Mumbai.

Personal Life

  • In 2002, at the age of 18, Sunidhi Chauhan married music video director Bobby Khan, against the wishes of her family which caused a rift with her family. They divorced a year later, and Sunidhi has reconciled with her parents.
  • Later,Sunidhi Chauhan began a romantic relationship with the music composer Hitesh Sonik whom she was friends with, since the days she won Meri Awaz Suno. After dating for more than two years, they married on 24 April 2012, at a low profile wedding ceremony in Mumbai. On 1 January 2018, Chauhan gave birth to a boy.

  • In 2000 Sunidhi Chauhan got Filmfare R D Burman award for the most promising new comer for her song “Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi” from the film Mast(1999).
  • In 2009 she got Kelviator GR8! FLO Women award.
  • In 2011 Sunidhi Chauhanwo Massal Award for Best International vocalist award.
  • In 2014 Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Playback Singer(Female) in 2014.
